Subject: NHTSA leaflet on How to spot a drunk!

Out-bloody-rageous! Christ what dumbass needs to consult this (as if they would anyway) but it still has a nasty Gestapo like ring to it. The indicators given are wrong in any number of ways. Ever tried to drive straight across a grating bridge deck? Whats the best way to handle those - simple, speed up! So you're screwed if you do and screwed if you don't! Likewise the changing line in a bend crap, how I take a bend is entirely up to my judgement, like maybe I want to check out whats ahead so I move over for a better scan, like maybe its at night and that shadow might be a diesel fuel spill, I could go on. Found this site by accident, glad I did. When is some body of organized folk going to take the whole public servant issue to court on those grounds alone? PUBLIC meaning you work FOR us, SERVANT meaning your existence is justified on the grounds that you perform a SERVICE. Anyway, heres another for your card. How to spot a DWI motorcyclist - he or she is dead, sooner rather than later. They won't make much mess, are unlikely to take out anyone else in the process, will ride so badly anyway (if this is a regular practice) that you could spot them without having a clue! ALL motorcyclists, weave, wobble, realize they cant stop in time and occasionally take what seems to be the lesser risk and stop to piss so often its embarassing! What kind of dumbasses are we employing if they need this shit?

What bothers me about this whole fucking mother hen approach is it starts out as well meaning (at least one hopes it does) but before you can say Jack Robinson, some bureaucratic weasel has managed to inflate everything to bogus proportions to justify their existence and ever increasing budget and after that - if not before - any useful work goes out the window as it piles up to become a tottering heap of crap upon crap. It really is time a whole bunch of us took these fuckers on and said "NO! We are NOT paying for this, we don't need it, we don't want it! Go collect unemployment with all the other useless assholes!" It would be a LOT cheaper than paying salaries for folk to sit and push paper across desks in ever decreasing concentric circles until it disappears up - unfortunately - our fundaments!
